Response to blackfish; video editing project
Project Description
During this project, I used different elements o videography and film editing. I decided to go with the original ideas of this project and approach the topic of captivated whales. During the video my script mentioned mostly facts about the life spans of whales in captivity. I also mentioned how 100% of male whales in captivity have a drooping fin. I chose to air my video on the sadder side of thing I think. As for the process, I had to film, edit and refine my work a lot. There were multiple confusing points where I had to redo something. For example, I had to film about 5 times because of technical issues such as something getting deleted. If I did this project again I would be more organized and take more time on the video editing stage. Overall, I enjoyed this project and thought of it as a good experience.

Teacher creature project
Basic Project Description
During the annual Teacher Creature Project for Digital Arts I was introduced to Photoshop for the first time. I learned all about the different tools and elements of PS. Throughout this project I used tools such as copy and paste, quick selection tool, warp, and paintbrush. I also changed the hue and saturation in different elements of my project. The Hardest Part
The hardest part of the teacher creature project for me was probably being introduced to Photoshop. Computers haven’t been much of a strong suit for me in the past; especially complicated programs. Throughout this project I learned all about the different tools in Photoshop. I learned how to use the complex tools in Photoshop, such as warp. I also learned about simple things like quick selection. I am glad that I persevered through this project because I learned a lot and developed a lot of skills when doing this project. I am also very happy with my final project. Favorite Part
My favorite parts of this project was learning about Photoshop and getting to play around with teachers (obviously). I got to learn about what computer programs are capable of. Just looking at Photoshop it was like, wow! There are so many creative things to do. Also, I liked being able to create my own piece of art. I got to use any and all ideas I wanted and I definitely enjoyed the openness of this project. LANDSCAPE Project This project was an opener to the ideas and world of Photoshop. For this project we had to make a landscape in Photoshop. We had to include a foreground, middle ground, and background. In the one I made, the background consisted of the sky and the trees along the ridge of the mountain. These elements that make up the background are small and they slowly lose texture as you go farther back. In the middle layer I have used a grassy hillside and a white tent. Both of these elements are medium sized and you can see them more clearly than the ones in the background. Finally, in the foreground I have used a layer of rocks in the front of the picture. These objects are larger and you can see them very clearly. This project was helpful because it really helped us to learn more about the basics of Photoshop.

Learning About Myself
Throughout this project, I opened up to more to my personal creativeness. I learned that I was definitely right about wanting to be at a project-based school. I love doing things like this and will really want to keep doing them. The aspects that I enjoyed most about this project were the tools that I learned how to use and I also was very happy with the project that I accomplished. I think that photoshop and other similar programs will be very useful in the future. Overall, I really enjoyed this project and everything in this class so far. Thanks Roxy! |
